He man known for having the
“golden touch”, Justin Idol returned to the CWF at Autumn
Brawl (9/30/06) and made a big splash in his return.
Becoming the first CWF
wrestler to hold the CWF Keystone title on two separate
occasions, Idol wowed the crowd. He defeated Devil Bhudakahn,
Jason Gory, and Mantis in quite possibly the best match in
CWF history at Unfinished Business VII (2/10/07).
Having been gone from the CWF
for three years until he returned in 2006, Idol left the CWF
when he could not to a contractual agreement with then-CWF
Commissioner Mark Kaboly in 2004.
During his initial run, Idol
held every CWF title with the exception of the CWF
heavyweight title.
His first taste of gold was
when he teamed with Devin Devine (as Manifest Destiny) to
dethrone Picture Perfect (CJ Sensation and Lance Dayton, who
was filling in for Dirk Ciglar) for the CWF tag titles at
Last Dance (7/2/03). Three months later, idol got his
first taste of singles gold in the CWF when he dethroned Mon
Valley champion J-Ru in a triple threat match that also
included Brett Paradise at Graveyard Brawl (10/4/03).
With the win, Idol became the second wrestler in CWF history
(Powerhouse Hughes was the first) to simultaneously hold two
CWF titles at once.
In January 2004, Idol became
the first man to hold two titles at the same time on two
occasions. At Motown Showdown ’04 (1/10/04) he
defeated Devil Bhudakahn in the finals of a tournament for
the vacant Keystone title. He also held the Mon Valley title
at the same time.
Two weeks later, Idol added a third dual title reign under
his belt at Hardcore Blizzard ’04 (1/24/04) when he
won the Callahan’s Hardcore title in a 20-minute battle
royal.
Idol is shooting for nothing
less than the CWF heavyweight title on this run in the
company. Whether he reaches the pinnacle of becoming the
first person to hold every title in CWF history is something
that whets his appetite.
But if you think about it,
everything that Idol touches does indeed turn to gold. So
why should anyone doubt him?
