In
a CWF first, Commissioner LeGrande had announced that the
match at AFTERMTH between “the Big Star” K-Starr and Scott
Prodigy would be for a CWF contract.
Both wrestlers have appeared on CWF shows in the last few
months, but neither had been able to secure a contract.
LeGrande had seen enough in both of them that he felt
confident in putting a contract on the line.
“They are both young up and comers in the business and we
wanted to give them the chance to compete,” LeGrande said.
“I think the concept worked and it will be something that
will be reviewed in the future as well.”
The match between the two went to the eight-minute time
limit which meant that the fans would get to pick the winner
by crowd reaction.
The crowd picked Prodigy, but it was by a close margin.
“I am excited to be on the CWF roster now,” he said. “I look
forward to making the fans proud.”
Starr was gracious in defeat as he shook Prodigy’s hand.
“Scott deserves it,” Starr said. “I will keep working hard
as I have a few more CWF dates lined up, so we shall see.”
